The grandparents of the current landlord Maria and Johann Griessenböck began already in 1925 with a lot of pioneer's mind and personal commitment with the construction of the inn "to the post". Already at that time they planned the inn in its today's size. To be a little independent from the outside, they also pursued own agriculture and established in the Rhontal own electric power station.

Especially hard times brought the prewar years and years of war with themselves: by the 1000-mark barrier and the generally disastrous economic situation it was not possible to the biggest part of the "Sommerfrischler" any more to come to the Hinterriss. By the end of the war French and American members of the occupying forces took accommodation in the house. That limited the economic everyday life massively.
Although the external condition on the foundation of a family were possibly bad, nevertheless, Johann and Maria Griessenböck gave a happy home to their four sons and their only daughter.

In 1959, after the death of her father, Sophie, the lyoungest one of five children, together with her man Alfred Reindl took the company over Huge commitment and many new ideas of the both led to a new upturn. The inn was renovated in their time with love to the detail and was altered. After the high water of 1973 the  electric power  station had to be built completely anew. Also Sophie and Alfred Reindl succeeded in allowing a lighthearted childhood in spite of the often hard work to their son and their two daughters. They also transmitted the joy in the company to their children. After the retirement of the "second generation" Manfred with his wife Brigitta Reindl took over the house.
Also they rest not on the created, but are always anxious to form the stay of their guests with innovations and personal commitment as unforgettably as possible. Thus the complete roof framing, as well as also the third and fourth floor was completely anew formed in 1987 and also the whole house was made winter-firm. In the course of the last years all rooms were equipped with shower and WC and also a personal lift was inserted. Regular guests appreciate the family atmosphere and above all also deliciious cuisine. Freshness and quality belongs to the principles of the inn "to the post". The landlady herself provides for it: Fish is served only catch-freshly from own fishpond and the offered venison comes exclusively from the surrounding hunting districts.
... and that this will also remain in future so, the fourth generation will provide for it: now both children of the present landlord's people already co-operate, even though they must still pursue their time-consuming education, with full vigour.
