Tirol family business realises worth seeing small hydroelectric power plant in the Karwendel mountains A power station with all finesse „Three things we have bought ourselves for the power station construction: a tractor, a pickup truck and a power saw“, says Florian Reindl from the Tirol Hinterriss. In the fourth generation he uses together with father Manfred the strength of the raw valley brook. The both have rolled up their sleeves to come true their dream of the hydroelectric power plant. The expenditure has been worthwhile. Today visitors come regularly to Hinterriss to connect an excursion to the worth seeing natural landscape of the Karwendels with a visit of the exemplary new high-pressure power station. The arrangement feeds yearly about 2.2 million kWh ecological energy into the net of the TIWAG – and the generator coolant is used to the heating of the adjoining inn. ![]() |
